It’s a good time to get breast implants. The first breast augmentation was performed in 1962, and since that time, countless innovations and new techniques have improved the procedure dramatically. Thanks to modern breast implants and state-of-the-art surgical techniques, Dr. Farber is transforming breasts for women throughout Palm Beach County, creating the natural-looking and envy inducing curves you’ve always wanted.
Why is today’s breast augmentation better than ever? Explore some of our favorite reasons below.
Choices, Choices, Choices
The modern woman has many options for breast augmentation and we’ll discuss them all during your consultation with Dr. Farber. Many choices mean a customizable outcome, breasts that are perfectly designed for your body type, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences. Your options for breast augmentation include:
- Incision Placement- There are a few different options for breast implant incisions, including under the areola, in the armpit, or under the breast fold. We choose incision locations that are inconspicuous and that work well with your implant size and type. Dr. Farber uses modern suturing techniques to minimize scarring, wherever the incision is placed.
- Breast Implant Position- Breast implants can be placed over or under the pectoral muscle. For most of our patients, a submuscular placement, where the implant is positioned under the pectoral muscle will yield the most natural-looking results.
- Breast Implant Type- We use both saline and silicone implants for breast augmentation. Both types of implants have a silicone outer shell. The primary difference between the two is the material that fills the cavity of the implant. Saline implants are filled with a sterile saline solution after the implants are positioned in the breast. This allows for a smaller incision, including the popular periareolar incision around the areola. Silicone implants come pre-filled with a soft silicone gel filling. Dr. Farber generally prefers silicone implants because they feel most like a natural breast.
- Implant Size- Breast implants are measured in CCs, or cubic centimeters. Implants come in many shapes and sizes, ranging from teeny tiny to very large. Your anatomy and goals for the surgery will guide us to the right implant size.
You’ll make many decisions as you prepare for breast augmentation, but you won’t make them alone. Dr. Farber, a board-certified plastic surgeon, will offer his expert advice and recommendations for each decision you’ll make. With more than 10 years of experience performing breast augmentation, Dr. Farber is very familiar with the process and loves empowering women with his extensive knowledge on the subject. We are committed to helping you achieve your best breasts.
Strong, Durable Implants
The breast implants we use today are stronger, more durable, and longer-lasting than many older types of breast implants. With these new implant designs, rupture and leakage rates are significantly reduced.
Natural Looking Results
We couldn’t be more excited about the trend toward natural-looking breast augmentation. In the early days of breast implants, big and obvious implants were very popular, steering some women away from the procedure that desired a more natural look. Today, breast augmentation strives to create enhanced, but realistic curves. Our patients love the results Dr. Farber is able to achieve.
Your anatomy should be carefully considered when choosing breast implants. Dr. Farber uses biodimensional planning tools and technologies to help women create their ideal breasts. With state-of-the-art planning tools, choosing implants and planning breast surgery is no longer guesswork. We have more control than ever before to create the look you’re envisioning for your breasts.
