Renuva

Renuva in Boca Raton, FL – Facial Fat Injections

When talking about signs of aging, most patients would immediately mention wrinkles and expression lines. Undoubtedly, they are the most common signs, and everyone knows about them. However, there are other facial and body changes that also indicate that you are not as young as you used to be.

Fat deposits disappear over time, especially in your face, hands, and specific body parts. The lack of fat cells alters the contour of your skin, and these affected areas get “depressed” or lose volume. Volume and fullness is youthful, Facial fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane replace lost volume with Hyaluronic Acids. However these types of facial fillers slowly resorb over time. The good news is that Dr. Scott Farber of Farber Plastic Surgery also has a more long-term solution to volume loss. He is pleased to offer those patients concerned about this cosmetic issue a modern and effective treatment alternative: Renuva injections.

What is Renuva, and How Does it Work?

Renuva is a cutting-edge, non-surgical cosmetic treatment that deals with age-related fat loss, replacing lost volume in the face, neck, hands, and body. The substance injected is an allograft adipose matrix, which comes from purified donated fat tissue. As it contains the same proteins and components of your own fat tissue, your body doesn’t notice its presence, so it doesn’t react to it as if it were a foreign substance.

These artificial fat injections are applied where fat deposits used to be. Losing fat is a common consequence of aging, so this treatment helps you recover your glow and youthful appearance without altering your facial or body features too much. In other words, you will still be you – but you will look better.

When injected, Renuva creates a kind of matrix in the treated area that is later filled with your body’s fat tissue. After three to six months, this matrix is slowly eliminated by the body, but your body builds its own fat in its place.

Renuva vs. Autologous Fat Transfers

The main difference between Renuva injections and autologous fat transfers is that, while Renuva works with your fat tissue, the substance injected doesn’t contain actual fat cells as the autologous fat transfers. In an autologous fat transfer, your doctor removes fat tissue from other parts of your body and places it in the treated area. With this alternative, you might achieve more dramatic results, but it does imply a surgical procedure to extract the fat tissue from your own body and all the post-op implications that come along with it.

Benefits of Renuva Injections

The Renuva treatment is becoming increasingly popular among our patients due to the following advantages:

  • Minimally-invasive: Renuva is directly injected into the treated areas. No deep incisions, general anesthesia, or stitches are needed!
  • Long-lasting results: unlike other types of dermal fillers, the results obtained with Renuva can last up to a decade.
  • Natural-looking results: Renuva injections are perfect for those patients that want subtle transformations and natural facial and body features.
  • No downtime: you can return to work or resume daily activities immediately after treatment.
  • Satisfied patients: Renuva injections reviews are simply amazing. Patients are delighted with the results obtained!
  • Convenient: More affordable and less invasive than autologous fat transfers.

Where Can Renuva Be Used?

Renuva is used for multiple purposes and is effective in any body or facial area where fat tissue is located. These injections can help mask imperfections in your face (especially in temples, nasolabial folds, chin, jawline, and cheeks), hands, and other body areas. It is also used for smoothing skin irregularities like cellulitis and filling depressions typically left after surgical procedures.

What Happens During a Renuva Treatment?

Patients need to come to our office only once for this treatment. This appointment should only last around  60 minutes, depending on how many areas are treated. During this visit, Dr. Farber will  inject the substance with a small needle. Once the treatment is finished and you feel good, you can leave the office and go back to your routine. As simple as that.

You will see the treatment’s final results after approximately three months. By then, you can schedule a new appointment with Dr. Farber to evaluate the results and determine whether you need a second injection to obtain the results you are looking for.

How Long Does Renuva Last?

Although your body eliminates Renuva over time, results don’t fade away that easily. As the substance injected is gradually replaced by your own fat cells, these new cells will maintain the contour that Renuva first obtained. This means that results will last as long as your fat cells survive – which is excellent news.

One of the most significant benefits of this treatment is that you can enjoy Renuva results for many years to come!

Is It Considered a Safe Procedure?

Having passed rigorous safety testing, Renuva is an FDA-approved cosmetic procedure that is considered safe and doesn’t cause major side effects. You might experience some symptoms after the injection, like minor swelling, tenderness, mild irritation, or minimal bruising, but they resolve on their own a few days after the treatment. The recovery is different from any other injectable procedure.

How Much Does Renuva Cost in Florida?

Renuva comes in syringes, and the number of syringes (and hence, the treatment cost) will exclusively depend on the number of areas treated and the complexity of the case. For an accurate quote, we advise you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Farber so that he can evaluate your particular situation and discuss your expectations.
