Juvederm® Volbella in Boca Raton at Farber Plastic Surgery
What is Volbella®?
Volbella® is a new injectable filler that is specially designed for the lips and the areas around the mouth. It defines the lips, restores lip volume, smooths fine lines around the lips, and lessens the appearance of depressions at the corners of the mouth.
Volbella® was developed much like Voluma® in that it was developed with Vycross™ technology to provide a natural feel and an attractive look, with results proven to last as long as one year. The product includes an anesthetic to lessen the discomfort of the injections.
Volbella® differs from other injectables in that its formula was developed specifically for the mouth area and addresses concerns of deflation and overfilling. The filler is an ultra-smooth gel, so it keeps lips feeling soft and natural while producing subtle results. With Volbella®, there is very little chance that your lips will appear unnatural.
How do I know I can trust Volbella® with my smile?
Volbella® and other Juvederm® products are comprised of hyaluronic acid, which softly enhances lips and smooths the fine lines that can develop around the mouth. Because Volbella® contains Vycross™ technology and a lower hydrophilic composition, the results appear more natural. This smooth gel will be injected by Dr. Farber using a thin needle. Studies show that 98 percent of patients report that their aesthetic goals have been reached after receiving injections of Volbella®.
How long does Volbella® last?
The longevity of this product sets it apart from other fillers, and 80 percent of those who have received the injection state that they are still satisfied with their look up to one year later.

What should I expect before Volbella® treatment?
Before your treatment, Dr. Farber will meet with you to discuss your goals. He will explain your options, answer any questions, and let you know if he recommends Volbella® injections. During your procedure, you may receive several injections. The first fine needle injections may cause some discomfort, but the pain will subside since the Volbella® formula includes a local anesthetic. The procedure tends to last around 20 minutes.
What should I do after Volbella® treatment?
You will most likely be given an ice pack to lessen any swelling or redness, and you can take Arnica supplements to speed the healing process. You will be advised to refrain from wearing makeup for a 12-hour time period, and you will be advised to avoid sun exposure as well. Most patients who undergo Volbella® treatments do not experience any downtime.
Will Volbella® injections hurt?
The smooth consistency of the products in VYCROSS™ products such as Volbella® will allow Dr. Farber to administer them smoothly and easily. Each syringe contains 0.3 percent Lidocaine to lessen the pain of injection for a more comfortable experience.
Will there be swelling after Volbella®?
After your treatment, you may experience some bruising and swelling. Volbella® absorbs less water than other injectables and causes less swelling than other treatments you may have received in the past. You may notice a quick recovery time, and any swelling or bruising will last for less than a week. Since hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, allergic reactions to injections of Volbella® are very rare.
Can Volbella® treatments be combined with other treatments?
Volbella® can be combined with laser treatments to more fully rejuvenate the area around the mouth. Dr. Farber will discuss your options with you and explain if any other treatments will be necessary to achieve your desired result.
