CoolSculpting vs. CoolTone: Which Is Better for You?

When we talk about non-surgical body sculpting, CoolSculpting is always in the conversation. But a new kid has come on the block recently, and that’s CoolTone. But which one of these fantastic treatments is better suited for you? That’s what we will explore in this article to help you decide how you can look your best in the shortest amount of time.

Though there may be some similarities, like the word “cool” in both names, the treatments are distinctly different in how they work and the benefits they offer. The most significant difference is that CoolSculpting helps eliminate unwanted fat, while CoolTone helps build muscle tone.

CoolSculpting Resolves Stubborn Fat

This groundbreaking technology is the non-surgical alternative to the ever-popular liposuction. They deliver similar results to similar areas, but CoolSculpting avoids incisions, sutures, anesthesia and downtime.

CoolSculpting is an approximately 40-minute procedure that involves fat freezing to kill unwanted fat cells and eliminate them for good. The process is so comfortable that many patients choose to nap during the session. Others bring books and electronic devices to check emails, read, or stream a video.

The benefits last as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle with diet and exercise and maintain your post-treatment body weight.

CoolTone Enhances Muscle Tone

CoolTone enhances muscles rather than removing fat. This relatively new technology employs magnetic muscle stimulation to deliver electromagnetic pulses to target muscles. These pulses create involuntary contractions to strengthen and tone the treatment site.

The treatment engages the muscles at a higher intensity than exercise, resulting in a quicker benefit than going to the gym. During the 30-minute procedure, your muscles will contract over 25,000 times with minimal discomfort. Though you may experience some fatigue after the treatment, many feel pumped up the following day, much like an intense workout.

Treatment Areas

CoolSculpting is FDA-approved for different body parts, including:

  • Arms
  • A double chin
  • Back (bra roll)
  • Upper and lower abdominals
  • Chest (for males)
  • Knees
  • Inner and outer thighs

CoolTone received FDA clearance in 2019 to tone muscles in these regions:

  • Abdomen and love handles
  • Buttock
  • Thighs

CoolSculpting, CoolTone – or Both?

To maximize their treatment regimen, many of our patients have learned the benefit of combining CoolSculpting with CoolTone. Here, you get the best of both worlds, removing unwanted fat and toning target areas.

Though different, the two treatments complement each other perfectly. Some patients choose to have CoolSculpting sessions before toning with CoolTone, while others do the therapies concurrently.
